Indian envoy asks Canada to produce evidence in Nijjar’s killing, says Trudeau’s statements “damaged” probe

India’s High Magistrate to Canada Ajay Bisaria has requested that the Canadian government produce proof in the killing of Sukhwinder Singh Nijjar, a 47-year-old Indian man who was shot dead by the Imperial Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Surrey, English Columbia, on November 15, 2022.

In a letter to Canadian Public Wellbeing Pastor Marco Mendicino, Bisaria said that the Indian government is “profoundly worried” about the occurrence and that the RCMP’s record of the shooting “needs lucidity and straightforwardness.”

Bisaria likewise said that Canadian Top state leader Justin Trudeau’s remarks about the shooting, where he said that Nijjar was “known to police,” have “harmed” the examination.
